We publish two articles in Swedish, accompanied by vocabulary words, every other month.
Written by ASI Swedish language instructor Barbro Roehrdanz, “Säg det på svenska” (Say it in Swedish) is a more advanced article in the form of letter from Barbro. “Hej! Jag heter Ove.” is an article in simpler Swedish written from the perspective of Barbro’s grandson, Owen (“Ove”).
These articles have been running in our member newsletter for more than two decades, and we are pleased to be able to make them available online from this point forward!
The American Swedish Institute, founded in 1929, serves as a gathering place for people to share stories and experiences around universal themes of tradition, migration, craft and the arts, all informed by enduring ties to Sweden.
