Do you consider yourself handy and enjoy helping others troubleshoot mechanical problems or where that leak is coming from. Perhaps, you have an electrical license and possibly even a Boiler’s License. You often say, “I can fix that!” If so, you should join our team at the American Swedish Institute (ASI) as our Building Engineer. ASI is a beloved museum and 95 year-old cultural institution, a gathering place for all people to share experiences around themes of culture, migration, the environment, and the arts. In this job you’ll be a partner responsible for caring, repairing and maintaining our modern building, a historic mansion on the National Register of Historic Places, commercial kitchens, staff offices and grounds. You will be the go-to person who can repair a broken toilet on the fly, swap out a light fixture without a hitch, and pitch in to assist a busy custodial team during a festival day. No two days will be the same. You will work as a part of the Facilities team and collaborate with other key staff in order to ensure that the ASI campus is prepared and ready for public use.
