Learning a language can be an eye opening experience. The American Swedish Institute offers excellent opportunities for adults to learn Swedish and Finnish languages in small and friendly, nine-week classes taught by experienced instructors. If you prefer a shorter gateway to Swedish language and culture, ASI also offers two-hour introductions to Swedish and plentiful opportunities to deepen your Nordic involvement through workshops, performances, lectures, book discussions and other events.
Registration for Winter Term
Swedish language classes are offered year-round for all levels starting in fall, winter and spring with some classes during summer. Classes meet once a week for 90 minutes over nine weeks. All classes address reading, writing, listening comprehension and speaking. Classes run with a minimum of 5 students and a maximum of 15. Beginning Finnish classes are offered in the fall of each year.
