11th Annual Minnesota Tile Festival

Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Attend and meet more than 40 of the most talented handmade tile and mosaic artists in the country as they convene at ASI to showcase and sell their one-of-a-kind art. At the Festival, you can discover the old world craftsmanship and timeless beauty of handmade tile and mosaic art, talk to the artists about the inspiration behind their work, and learn how to enhance remodeling, restoration or new construction projects with handmade tile or mosaic art. Stop by to discuss the creation of an original art installation for your commercial spaces, or consult with the architects, designers and tile setters who will also be exhibiting. Bring out your inner clay artist by attending hands-on workshops. Visitors will also have the chance to see artists’ demonstrations on how they use their tools and create their tiles, bid in the silent auction, or enter the Tile Bucks drawing to win $250 to spend with participating festival artists.

The Minnesota Tile Festival is sponsored by the Handmade Tile Association (HTA). Based in Minnesota, it is one of the nation’s premiere tile artist collectives. Visit the HTA website for in depth information about the event, as well as the artists and their work: www.handmadetileassociation.org. Admission to the Minnesota Tile Festival is free. Standard museum admission will apply to those wishing to visit the museum galleries, and ASI’s historic tile stoves.
