ASI Crayfish Party

Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012, 6:30-9:30 p.m.

Celebrate summer with an evening of good food, drinks, singing and music at ASI’s annual Crayfish Party. This year, the party moves outdoors into ASI’s new courtyard, decorated with a festive crayfish theme of lanterns and bright colors. You’ll enjoy a traditional Swedish crayfish dinner – good breads, strong cheeses, salads, Swedish paj (similar to a quiche) and, of course, crayfish. A cash bar will be available, and one shot of aquavit is included in the ticket price. Tickets for this 21+ event are $40 for ASI members, and $50 for nonmembers. Seating is limited and reservations are required, so call 612-871-4907 no later than Friday, Aug. 10 to save your seat!

To add to the evening’s fun atmosphere, traditional party hats and bibs will be included. There will also be a demonstration on how to eat crayfish, where newcomers can see firsthand why they’ll need a bib (and that the mess is part of the fun!). Come prepared to sing some drinking songs from the provided songbook, and to enjoy live music when you’re not the one singing.

Please drink responsibly, and plan for your ride home if you will be consuming alcohol, either by arranging for a designated driver or by calling for a taxi after the event.
