Cinnamon Bun Day

And a 6 p.m. Skål

Join ASI to celebrate the Five Year Anniversary of the Carl F. and Leslie A. Nelson Cultural Center, a modern space which opened in 2012. Designed by the renowned HGA architects, this light-filled and functional addition to the historic Turnblad Mansion ushered in an exciting new era. The additional facilities have enabled us to welcome more people in many new ways and fulfill our mission as a gathering place for all. The award-winning FIKA Café, also marking five years, serves delicious, Nordic-inspired cuisine. The outdoor courtyard and the new Larson Hall, added room for performances, talks, dinners and elegant weddings. The modern Osher Gallery hosts international and local art exhibitions. New facilities for the ASI Museum Store, collections storage, a large versatile event hall, and classes and workshops have expanded our capacity to serve the public.

To commemorate this special day, we are offering $5 admission to everyone, all day!

In addition, October 4 is Cinnamon Bun Day in Sweden, so FIKA will be kanelbulle central, serving these delicacies to honor both the NCC and a pastry which has its own holiday and has been beloved in Sweden since the 1920s.

To top it off, we will host a 6 p.m. evening Skål moment to toast all the donors, members, volunteers, businesses and staff who made this transformative project possible.

$5 Museum Admission All Day
