Cliff Brunzell and The Golden Strings – A Golden Anniversary Evening
2013 marks the 50th anniversary of the illustrious Golden Strings, whose strolling violin show debuted at the old Minneapolis Radisson Hotel’s Flame Room on Valentine’s Day 1963. Under the helm of violin firebrand Cliff Brunzell, the group awed large audiences including the likes of Nat King Cole at the landmark hotel for 18 years until its closing. Since then, the Golden Strings have continued to entertain throughout the Upper Midwest.
Join us Sept. 25 as the American Swedish Institute transforms into a smart and intimate supper club for this special evening celebrating the 50th anniversary of The Golden Strings and its founder Cliff Brunzell’s contribution to the Minnesota music scene.
The evening opens at 6:30 p.m. with cocktails and Golden Strings memorabilia. At 7 p.m., The Golden Strings will perform, with special guest performances by singers Connie Evingson and Charmin Michelle, and celebrations and keynote addresses by friends of The Golden Strings.
