Julmarknad - Swedish Christmas Market
Join us for for one of our biggest events of the Christmas season – the Julmarknad, or Christmas Market, on Saturday, Dec. 1 (10 a.m.–5 p.m.) and Sunday, Dec. 2 (noon–5 p.m.). This year, our annual Christmas Fairs combine into one weekend-long event. As usual, the Turnblad Mansion will be decorated to the max for Christmas, with each of the Nordic rooms representing the various countries’ traditions. Throughout the day, various music and dance groups will perform both indoors and out.
Families can participate in slöjd (handcraft) projects, take a break with storytime or watch Christmas cartoons. You won’t want to miss the outdoor Julmarknad Handcraft Fair, featuring handmade or handcrafted goods by local artists. You’ll also be able to cozy up around a firepit outside, or try your hand at the fiskdamm (fishing pond). Explore the Museum Shop for your holiday gift needs, and keep an eye out for the 200+ types of tomtes available. A full schedule of events will be posted online when available.
Admission is $7 adults, $6 ages 62 and above, $4 ages 6–18 and full-time students with ID, and free for children under 6 and ASI members.
