ABOUT SWEDEN ON THE ROAD: As part of 'Going Glocal', Embassy of Sweden's Public Diplomacy program for 2014, Sweden is putting its own distinctive spin on the classically American experience of a road trip with the project Sweden on the Road. In tours of different geographical areas – the Midwest and the West Coast – the Embassy of Sweden in the United States is hitting the road on a grand tour to connect with Americans in cities, towns, and rural areas and to exchange ideas with students, entrepreneurs, decision-makers and others.

Sweden on the Road is an opportunity for Swedes and Americans to interact with the expertise and perspectives which have evolved out of very different cultural traditions. Each tour route will tackle themes corresponding to local strengths - video game development in Silicon Valley, for example, and bioenergy in Minnesota. The tour will also showcase Sweden as a free trade nation with companies which are creating jobs and opportunities throughout America.
