Preschool Programs

ASI preschool programs offer you the opportunity to explore Swedish and Swedish-American traditions with your preschool-aged child or grandchild. Each topic is explored through creative storytelling, music, art and more. Designed for children ages 3-5 and their important adults.

Midsommar Music and Magic

Get ready for Midsommar! Bring your special preschooler to ASI to explore the magical traditions surrounding this unique summer holiday. Sing and dance around the Midsommar pole, learn about the magic of Midsommar flowers, and make your own Midsommar pole and headwreaths to continue your celebration at home.

Easter Feathers and Fun

Join our favorite preschool troll, Trulle, and learn about celebrating Easter in Sweden! Dress up as an Easter witch, hunt for Easter eggs, deliver Easter cards, and decorate an Easter tree with feathers.

Lucia's Legend

Explore Sankta Lucia's legend through stories, crafts and activities! Together, we'll answer the big questions of "What do Swedish families do on Lucia Day?" and "Why do they do it?" Take home your own Lucia crown or Starboy hat, recipes and ideas for creating your own Lucia celebration.

Hide and Seek with Tomte

Search high and low in the Turnblad Mansion for Tomte! We'll explore who he is through stories, crafts and activities – with some hidden surprises. You'll create your own Tomte story book and learn ideas for keeping your own Tomte happy at home!
