Parking

Free parking is provided for ASI visitors in our surface parking lot, located on the corner of 27^th Street and Park Avenue. It can be accessed from either 27^th Street or Park Avenue. Handicapped parking is available on the northeast side of the parking lot.

Entering

The entrance to the American Swedish Institute is located on the south side of the Nelson Cultural Center, just off of the parking lot. 

Directions

The American Swedish Institute is located at 2600 Park Avenue in Minneapolis, just five minutes south of downtown, at the corner of 26th Street and Park Avenue (watch for one way streets).

From the east: take Interstate 94 west to the 11th Street exit. Once on the exit, stay to the right and take East Grant Street about one block to the first stop light at Portland Avenue. Turn right on Portland Avenue and continue to 28th Street. Turn left on 28th Street and go two blocks to Park Avenue. Turn left on Park Avenue and go two blocks. Turn left into our parking lot.

From the south: take Interstate 35W north to the Lake Street/31st Street exit. Turn right on Lake Street and continue about 1/2 mile to Park Avenue. Turn left on Park Avenue and go four blocks north. Look for us on the left hand side of the street. Turn left into our parking lot.

From the north: take Interstate 35W south to the 11th Avenue exit. At the stop sign, continue straight on 17^th Street. Turn left on Chicago Avenue. Turn right on 27th Street and cross Park Avenue. Turn right into our parking lot.

From the northeast: take Hwy. 36 west to Interstate 35W south. (see above for rest of directions)

From the northwest: take Interstate 94 east to the Lyndale Avenue exit. Stay on Lyndale Avenue to 28th Street. Turn left on 28th Street and continue about one mile to Park Avenue. Turn left on Park Avenue and proceed two blocks. Turn left into our parking lot.

From the west: take Interstate 394 east to the Dunwoody/Hennepin Avenue exit. Turn right on Lyndale Avenue by the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden. Stay on Lyndale to 28th Street, turn left on 28th Street and continue to Park Avenue. Turn left on Park Avenue and go two blocks. Turn left into our parking lot.

Biking to ASI

We are conveniently located just three blocks north of the Midtown Greenway. (http://www.midtowngreenway.org/maps/)  There are bike racks located near the entrance to the American Swedish Institute.

Public Transit

Route 5, which runs between downtown Minneapolis and the Mall of America, stops two blocks away from ASI, at 26^th Street and Chicago Avenue.
