Cocktails at the Castle, the American Swedish Institute’s signature “museum party done right,” takes over the Turnblad Mansion and outdoor courtyard on Friday, June 13, 7–11 p.m., 2019. Embark on an adventure inspired by The Vikings Begin exhibition and rock the night away at the Castle. Awards will be given for for best Viking costume - so come in full regalia!
A line-up of lady vocal powerhouses will light up the night. The evening kicks off with the haunting Half Tramp, a 2019 City Pages "Picked to Pop" artist lauded for her "gift for mood-making rarely found in the local ranks." Then we’ll turn it up a notch with the esteemed Monica LaPlante. Afterward, Aby Wolf's atmospheric vocals will keep you swaying on the castle lawn throughout the night. The music won’t stop there: head inside for a dance party fueled by DJ power-duo Pink Rink.
Get your Viking on with rune carving demonstrations, Falconry 101 with the Raptor Center, live ale-bowl turning and more! Plus, keep your eye out for pop-up performances throughout the night. And plan to partake of FIKA Cafe’s award-winning food and cocktails, of course.
Don’t miss this Norse night out on the town at the Twin Cities’ only Castle!
