The American Swedish Institute hosts its popular, annual outdoor Midsommar Celebration on Saturday, June 16, 2018, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., offering all-day fun for people of all ages. The Midsommar tradition dates from ancient times as a moment to welcome back summer and the growing season. Similar to festivals in modern Sweden, ASI’s event highlights making fresh flower head-wreaths, live music and dancing around a greenery decorated Midsommar pole. Entrance is free for ASI members, and tickets for the general public are included with regular museum admission: $10 adult, $7 ages 62+, $5 ages 6-18 and students with ID. Buy your tickets day-of the event. No discounts or special museum passes accepted. The ASI is located at 2600 Park Ave., Minneapolis, MN 55407. For more, visit ASImn.org or call 612-871-4907.
