Daniel Serra is a Swedish archaeologist who works with ancient food and will soon hold a doctorate in Viking cuisine. He offers talks and leads cooking workshops where students cook a menu from the Viking Age, working in a communal atmosphere from Daniel’s interpretation of the dishes. He also shares the background behind the process, practice and ingredients.
Daniel Serra is passionate about cooking techniques, culinary practices and tastes, from the Viking age to the Renaissance. He is an in-demand instructor at many museums and historical events and an expert on ancient food in practice and in knowledge as a prospective Ph.D in Viking cuisine. He also takes part in events like the Midwest Viking Festival in Moorehead.
