Pop-Up Exhibition in ASI's Stuga Room
Arts North Traveling Exhibition - ASI
Drawn from hundreds of entries from around the U.S. and five international countries, Arts North is a popular juried competition now in its 25th year. 2020 is the fourth year ASI has presented the Arts North Traveling Exhibit, this year showing a selection of works in the Mansion’s lower level Stuga room.
The pieces on view were selected from works shown at the opening exhibition, which was on view January 9 – February 15, and organized and exhibited by the Hopkins Center for the Arts. It included 170 pieces, selected from more than 700 entries.
The larger juried traveling show, modeled after the Minnesota State Fair Fine Arts competition, annually draws entries from artists from throughout the US. who submit in 13 different media divisions: acrylics, ceramics, glass, drawings, oils, mixed media, pastels, photography, prints, sculpture, sequential art, textiles and watercolors. The exhibition seeks to showcase the quality and diversity that artists bring to their work and to inspire viewers to explore ideas and learn more about options within each medium.
The art pieces recognize a high level of creativity and skill. ASI’s Curator of Historic Properties was one this year’s Arts North jurors.
