Museum visitors are allowed and encouraged to take photographs for personal use or to post on social media, inside the Turnblad Mansion and Osher Gallery, unless otherwise noted. The use of flash is discouraged. We encourage you to "check-in" and share your photos on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. #americanswedishinstitute. Please note, personal use does not include formal engagement, work, graduation or family portraits, but you can request permission to schedule these.
Tripods or other professional photography equipment are not allowed in the Turnblad Mansion without advance permission. Professional photographers, videographers and media, commercial and non-commercial, who desire to shoot at ASI need to obtain advance permission. We will provide an application form so you can submit requests. ASI reserves the right to grant or deny photographic access to the building and grounds.
Because of high demand, ASI's desire to not interfere with the experience of visitors who have paid an admission fee, and to protect the historic nature of the Mansion and grounds, photography shoots require permission, an appointment and need to be done during non-public hours with a staff escort. We do charge a reasonable fee to cover access, set up and staffing. There are different fees for commercial shoots.
For an application form and more information, please contact Karen Nelson, Marketing and Communications Manager, for additional information at Karen.N@ASImn.org.
