Wednesday, September 11: Friends of Swede Hollow Book Talk wth Marilyn McGriff

  • Swede Hollow may be a little known and hidden valley on the edge of downtown Saint Paul, but that’s about to change. Marilyn McGriff, local historian and member of the Friends of Swede Hollow, will present photos and give a brief history that will also serve as a preview of a book to be published this fall. Included in Marilyn's talk will be a discussion of the significant role Swede Hollow played in immigration to the Twin Cities not only for Swedes, but for Italians and Mexicans as well.

Fans of Swede Hollow may also be interested in the Swede Hollow Ghost Sonata, taking place on Saturdays and Sundays in September in Swede Hollow Park. This performance experience is presented by Sod House Theater and Black Label Movement and explores the continuing histories of immigration to St. Paul’s Swede Hollow neighborhood. Visit for free tickets and more information.
