ASI's Language Courses Begin September 18

Are you interested in learning Swedish or Finnish?

Sessions run for nine weeks, with classes on various days, beginning the week of September 18 and running through the week of November 13.

The American Swedish Institute offers nine-week adult language sessions in fall, winter and spring with small class sizes and skilled, friendly instructors. Beginning classes in Swedish and Finnish prepare and lead students into further study. Swedish classes including Kort kurs (Short Course) or the two-hour Intro. to Swedish classes can give you a chance to get a feel for the language and decide if you'd like go to further. ASI has two classes for students who want to start with the basics.

Introductory Swedish A100 is a class specifically developed specifically to meet adult language students with basic or limited experience in second-language learning. This class uses a text called, Kort kurs, available exclusively in the ASI Museum Store.

  • Monday, 8 - 9:30 p.m.

Swedish A101 is a class that also starts with the basics, but uses an academic style textbook, Rivstart A1+ A2, that is also used in many subsequent levels. This class is designed for students who have completed A100 or have experience with language learning.

  • Wednesday, 8 - 9:30 p.m. - Accelerated Pace, Instructor: Rachel Willson-Broyles
