CANCELLED Green Woodcarving 102

Thursday, February 6, 2020 - 1:00pm to 4:00pm

This class is cancelled, but check out our other 102 classes in February and April.

Have you caught the carving bug and eager to dive in a little deeper? This class will start with a freshly cut log or branch and take students through the foundational tools and techniques of traditional green woodcarving. Students will use axes, froes, drawknives, hook knives and carving knives to transform wood from local forests into useful objects for the home, such as chopsticks, spatulas and spoons. From discussions about proper tool use and safety, to contemplation on design and decoration, this in-depth class will offer an excellent foundation to any aspiring or emerging woodworker who’s looking for a peaceful, reflective and easily portable form of working with this sustainable material.

This class is designed to be a perfect next step for students who have taken ASI’s Green Woodcarving 101 or have otherwise dabbled in green woodwork or carving. Students need some hand strength and flexibility to take part in this course.

A $30 materials fee is included in class tuition.
