Historic Preservation Tour with Laura Faucher

Join architect Laura Faucher in this 45-minute tour of the Turnblad Mansion, focusing on preservation and restoration. Learn about the original construction of the mansion and get the inside scoop on a recent restoration project from the perspective of a historic preservation architect.

Laura Faucher has over 20 years of experience as an architect and is currently an associate at Preservation Design Works (PVN). She recently worked on the Turnblad Mansion’s historic kitchen restoration. Laura holds Bachelor of Architecture and Bachelor of Environmental Design degrees from North Dakota State University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Concordia College. She is a past board member of the Preservation Alliance of Minnesota and currently serves as chair of the Minneapolis Heritage Preservation Commission. Co-presented with the Minnesota Historical Society (MNHS). 

After the tour, join us for a book release party for Larry Millett and Matt Schmitt’s new book, Minnesota’s Own: Preserving Our Grand Homes. Larry Millett and Matt Schmitt will also join this tour, along with ASI curator Curt Pederson who has been involved in many of the mansion’s restoration projects.
