Impossible Salt - Cocktail, Appetizer and Theatre Party

Tuesday, December 5, 2017 - 6:00pm

Musical storytellers Impossible Salt return to ASI by popular demand to present Wise One for the 2017 Jul season. This new, irreverent and interactive theatre work, set in the atmospheric Turnblad Mansion, explores the ancient roots of Jul, Winter Solstice and the New Year.

Inspired by the Norwegian folk tale "The Seventh Father of the House," Wise One follows a young woman seeking welcome on the darkest night of the year. Her journey will introduce her to Nordic and Romanian folk characters and customs--nisser, tomte, fierce animals, and maybe even trolls! Impossible Salt's wild, inimitable style blends drama, dance and games with beloved folk songs sung in their original language, as well as new music composed for the production by Minneapolis Music Company director, Mischa Santora.

Their 2015 production at ASI, The Stranger, was named one of MPR’s “12 Holiday Arts Must-Sees.”

At ASI, experience Impossible Salt in two types of settings.
