Midsommar Music and Dance Workshop

The Midsommar celebration in Sweden traditionally involves dancing around a greenery decorated pole singing Swedish songs. The American Swedish Institute has embraced these family friendly customs and they have become an important part of the festival. While everyone, whether they know the words or not, is heartily welcome to dance and sing, this is a chance to enjoy the experience even more by learning the dances and songs in advance and what they mean in Swedish

Do you know what sound a frog makes in Swedish, for example? Find out the answer and how this fits into the celebration Learn about the midsommar holiday and how the Swedes celebrate, at this family-friendly workshop.

ASI’s Midsommar is set for Saturday, June 16. After this class, you’ll be prepared to celebrate like a true Swede!
