Open Stacks @ ASI - Heritage Foodways & Nordic Cooking Culture

Wednesday, December 13, 2017 - 10:00am to 6:00pm

Join us for the debut of Open Stacks @ ASI, a new monthly, day-long program providing access to and insight inspired by ASI's collections, archives and the library.

On December 13, drop in any time after 10 a.m. or stop by from 2 - 6 p.m., when visiting Swedish food expert and historian Richard Tellström will lead a program regarding Researching and Archiving Your Family’s Heritage Recipes.

Richard invites you to please bring either originals or copies of your traditional family recipes, especially those that celebrate the holiday season, as well as stories and memories that accompany them. We would very much like to consider this information as a part of our food-related archives.

Tellström will spend the afternoon in the ASI's lower level Wallenberg Reading Room & Collections Study Area, mining ASI’s archival and library collections for foodways and recipes, interacting with visitors who have questions about how to research, preserve, record and maintain food-related family heritage.
