SOLD OUT Virtual Nordic Table Workshop: Bake Your Own Semlor with Erin Swenson-Klatt

Once the provenance of a single holy day, Fat Tuesday, Swedes now enjoy semlor from Christmas until Easter. These sweet, yeasted buns are perfumed with cardamom, stuffed with marzipan, filled with whipped cream and dusted with powdered sugar – a real treat. Join Erin for a baking day from your own kitchen – we’ll start by mixing and kneading our dough, then step away from our computers while the yeast does its work. After lunch we return to shape, bake, fill and decorate our semlor. We’ll finish with a fika in true Swedish style.

This is a live virtual class taught over Zoom. Students need a strong internet connection and a device with video capabilities.

This is a “cook along” class intended for students to participate from home. A shopping list will be shared one week in advance so students can make sure they have the ingredients on hand.
