Virtual Nordic Table Q&A: The Swedish Pantry with Erin Swenson-Klatt

Wednesday, June 24, 2020 - 6:30pm to 7:30pm

From unknown baking ingredients to food in tubes, explore some of those specialty Swedish ingredients showing up in your cookbooks. We’ll discuss ingredients specific to the Swedish pantry that you might want to track down if you want to cook or bake Swedish recipes at home, where to find them in the U.S., what they’re used for and what can be substituted in case you don’t have an easy source. Bring your questions (and tips!) for this virtual Q&A over Zoom!

About the presenter:

Erin Swenson-Klatt is the Food and Handcraft Programs Coordinator at the American Swedish Institute, an avid home cook and baker, and a lover of Swedish-style breakfasts. Erin caught the filmjölk bug while living in Stockholm as an exchange student, and returned to the U.S. eager to find sources for Swedish ingredients and to share the gospel of soft flatbreads with anyone who will listen. She also teaches wood fired baking courses at North House Folk School.
