Registration, Cancellation and Check-in Policies

Register for a class, event or workshop by phone or online.

All programs are available for registration online. You may also call ASI at 612-871-4907 or register in person at the front desk. Please have class, event, or workshop title(s), dates, membership information (if applicable), and credit card information ready when you call. Registration is not complete until full payment is received. Confirmations for all online registrations will be sent via email. Receipts for phone or in person registrations are available upon request. 

Register for a class, event or workshop in person

Please make every effort to register no later than one week in advance to give our staff and instructors time to prepare. Some coursework offers “early bird” discounts for early registrants; please see individual course or event pages for more details.

Waitlists

ASI keeps waitlists for all filled classes, events, and workshops. Please call 612-871-4907 to be added to a waitlist. ASI will only contact those on waitlists as space becomes available. 

Program Check-in

Free parking is available in our surface parking lot, located at 27th Street and Park Avenue. Handicapped parking is available on the northeast side of the parking lot.

Upon arrival, program registrants should check in at the Admission and Information Desk in the Nelson Cultural Center for directions to their event or class. In an effort to be green, most programs at ASI do not have a physical ticket so please be aware that you may be asked for your name upon check-in.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

Refunds are not available for cancellations made within one week (seven days) of a program.

While ASI makes every effort to ensure programs and classes run at capacity, ASI reserves the right to cancel a program one week prior to its start date if enrollment has not reached the required minimum. Registrants will be notified by phone or email if a program is cancelled. In the event that ASI cancels a program for any reason, registrants will receive a full refund.

Please allow up to one week for refunds to be processed. If payment was received within 60 days of the refund the refund will be given in the same form as the original payment (cash payments will only be given in person, otherwise a check will be sent to registrant). If you request a refund more than 60 days after initial payment refund will be issued via a mailed check only.

Cancellation and refund polcities may vary for some programs. 

Age Policy

Most programs and events at ASI are open to all ages. Unless otherwise noted, adult workshops are open to ages 18 and older. Some intergenerational workshops may be open to younger registrants alongside registered adults; please see individual program descriptions for more information. Youth programs are designed for specific age groups; all youth registrants should meet age requirements at the time of the course.

Non-discrimination policy

In ASI programs, no individual or group will be discriminated against because of race, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, age, or disability.
