Välkommen till Svenska Skolan!
Svenska Skolan Spring Term is full. Please call 612-871-4907 to be added to a waitlist.
Svenska Skolan is a Saturday morning language and culture program for kids aged 6-12 that offers an opportunity for children to learn or practice Swedish in a fun and interactive environment. Instruction is structured to meet the needs of children at all levels of Swedish.
Svenska Skolan Spring Term meets for nine Saturdays starting March 27 from 9-11 a.m. (No class on April 3 for Easter/Påsk) or May 29 over Memorial Day Weekend.)
With new restrictions due to COVID-19, ASI is moving its Svenska Skolan program outdoors. Our theme for Spring 2021 term will be Natur (Nature)! Allowing children complete immersion in nature, regardless of the weather, offers amazing learning experiences. This is not only a great educational philosophy, but also the safest way to continue promoting child-directed play and exploration. We will meet in-person outside, masked and socially distanced – rain, shine or snow! Svenska Skolan will meet for two hours per week with students receiving extra take-home activities for practice at home. Please note that the minimum age requirement to participate in Svenska Skolan is 6 years or older.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the number of students per Svenska Skolan class will be limited to 10 per 1 teacher, or 20 students total. Students must register for Svenska Skolan in advance.
Please note that we have extended spring term class time back to our regular length of 2 hours, and the class fee has been adjusted to account for the increased contact time.
Cost: $150 ASI members / $160 non-members.
