Wanna sauna? Book your Solar Egg sauna experience!
Taking residence in ASI’s outdoor courtyard from March 6 to April 28, the Solar Egg by Bigert & Bergström for Riksbyggen sculpture is made of wood and covered in a stainless golden mirror surface. Its many facets reflect its surroundings and the sauna acts as a chamber for the exchange of ideas. In the center of the egg is a wood-fired, heart-shaped sauna stove made of iron and stone, and the temperature reaches between 75° and 85°C (or 167° to 185° F)!
How to book a seat in the sauna:
- Sauna sessions are 30-minutes long and available on Wednesday evenings from 5-7 p.m. (last seating at 7) and on Saturdays and Sundays from 12-4 p.m. (last seating at 4) throughout the exhibition period, which runs March 6 - April 28. Sauna sessions begin and end on time. Please arrive with enough time to check-in and dress into sauna attire.
- We're partnering with sauna-savvy 612 Sauna Society to help manage your sauna experience. They have a bunch of sauna tips – please read the rules and requirements before your session, including what to bring.
- Tickets are $30 for ASI and 612 Sauna Society members / $35 for non-members (plus service fees). Enter a code before checkout to receive discounted price. Members should watch their email for the discount code or contact ASI at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 612-871-4907.
- Booking a session is the only way to see inside. The sauna is not open for public visitation.
